Hello, I’m Billy O’Connell, Loan Originator at The O’Connell Group Home Loans and here’s a little bit about myself and why I love what I do.

Prior to my start in the Mortgage Industry, I worked in sales and marketing in the wine and beverage space in Santa Barbara and Los Angeles. From those years, I learned a lot about myself, how to pick out a great wine, and realized the thing that brought me the most joy from my job was getting to build relationships with great people.

Since then, I moved back to my hometown of Orange County and had the privilege of becoming a homeowner. Before going through the loan process, my knowledge of the mortgage industry was little to none, but I was lucky enough to have a really great lender who helped educate and ultimately inspire me to get into the business. He also happened to be my brother, Patrick O’Connell.

I’m truly passionate about getting to know my clients and being able to help them achieve their financial goals. Whether you’re trying to buy the home of your dreams, save money by refinancing or being able to invest more in improving the home you already own and love, I will work hard to find the best solution tailored to your needs.

I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in real estate development from the University of Arizona (Bear Down) and received my MBA from Pepperdine University. I love to surf, golf, and spend time with my wife, Chelsea, our 1-year-old son, Bodhi, and English lab, Sunny.
